Senior Director, Quality Assurance-Service Max
Hybrid – San Ramon, CA (3 days a week)
The QA Manager is a hands‑on quality leader responsible for ensuring the reliability and release readiness of the Go Mobile application across iOS, Android, and Windows devices. This role focuses on both manual and automated testing, guiding how quality practices are applied throughout the mobile development lifecycle.
Working closely with QA engineers, mobile developers, backend teams, product management, and support organizations, the QA Manager ensures that testing approaches reflect real‑world enterprise usage and release risks. The role participates from early planning and test strategy definition through validation and release readiness, ensuring quality is embedded throughout development and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead manual and automated testing efforts across diverse projects
- Provide technical guidance to QA engineers in test design, execution, and defect analysis
- Perform root cause analysis and support bug‑fix validation
- Triage defects and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines
- Perform exploratory, regression, usability, and acceptance testing
- Execute performance and scalability tests to validate system reliability under load
- Contribute to QA activities across product, plugin, and toolchain testing tracks
- Collaborate with development, product, and Dev Ops teams to ensure test coverage and release readiness
- Participate in planning, execution, and release phases of each project
- Deliver accurate time and effort estimates for assigned QA tasks
- Track and report quality metrics, coverage, and defect trends
- 15+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including experience leading QA teams for enterprise software products
- Ability to commute to the San Ramon office at least 3 days a week
- Experience defining and driving quality and automation strategy for complex software systems, including service‑based or API‑driven architectures
- Experience driving organization‑wide automation, testing, and release practices
- Strong understanding of modern test automation frameworks and CI/CD‑driven quality practices, with prior hands‑on experience
- Experience testing applications that interact with backend services or APIs
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, product management, support, and release operations
- Strong experience working with engineering leadership to evolve development lifecycle and quality standards
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify systemic quality risks across different parts of the software stack
- Strong experience testing cross‑platform mobile applications (iOS and Android; Windows or tablet environments a plus)
- Experience working with systems composed of multiple components such as mobile applications, web applications, and backend services
- Familiarity with microservices‑based architectures or distributed systems
- Experience supporting enterprise software where behavior may vary based on configuration, integration, or customer customization
- Familiarity with Salesforce‑based applications or configurable enterprise platforms
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams
- Experience using AI‑assisted development or testing tools to improve test design, automation development, or defect analysis
- Experience validating AI‑enabled product features, including testing non‑deterministic system behavior and evaluating output quality
