Sand Springs Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to serve as substitute teachers (certified and non‑certified). In this role you will provide essential instructional support, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure continuity of classroom activities while regular teachers are absent.

Applications for substitutes will not be processed until an applicant has submitted their background check and the district background check receipt is returned.
The district has the right to terminate any employee if the district's background check is deemed unacceptable.
District background checks will not be shared with other districts.

Non‑Certified – Daily pay: $80.00
Support Employee – Hourly pay: $10.00 (varies 7‑7.5 hours per day).

- Follow and teach lesson plans, assist students in understanding subject matter, and ensure classroom routines are followed.
- Review and implement the regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
- Report any student injuries, illness, or serious discipline problems to school administration.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Apply effective lessons in the absence of the regular instructor.
- Ensure district policies are observed during all activities.
- Supervise students, maintain attendance records, and keep them under supervision at all times.
- Reset classroom for regular teacher’s return and adhere to safety procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality per FERPA requirements.
- Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment.
- Perform additional duties as directed by school administration.
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
- Leave detailed teacher notes on any issues experienced during the day.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Substitute Office.
- Occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions.
