Entry Level Manufacturing - Appointment

Responsibilities

• Operation of a variety of machines ranging from a six-ton overhead crane to a tube-forming mill.
• Load/unload materials onto/off of machines, process tubing through equipment, and ensure quality of tubes produced and shipped.
• Ensure that equipment is in a safe operating condition.
• Review the computerized work list for the equipment, locate available material, and prioritize orders for processing.
• Communicate with other operators to formulate the run order of material.
• Load/unload various machines, including conveyors.
• Perform necessary setup during shift.
• Complete daily Operational and Safety Checklists.

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and speak English is preferred.
• Mathematical skills at a high school level, including decimals, fractions, and averages.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with supervisors and co-workers.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.

• Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis; may require additional hours as needed.
• Full range of body motion including lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting.
• Frequent walking and/or standing on a concrete floor while wearing steel-toed shoes.
• May walk up to two miles per shift while performing essential duties.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• May require unassisted lifting of objects weighing 5 to 50 pounds (average 34-37 pounds).
• Hand movements include turning and twisting; dealing with production deadlines or emergencies can be stressful.

• Manufacturing area with regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise.
• Regular exposure to hot temperatures (95–110ºF in summer) and cold temperatures depending on outside conditions.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and steel-toed shoes.
