Operation of a variety of machines ranging from a six-ton overhead crane to a tube-forming mill.
Responsibilities range from loading and unloading materials onto and off of machines, processing tubing through equipment, and ensuring quality of tubes being produced and shipped out.
Ensure that the equipment is in a safe operating condition.
Review the computerized work list for the equipment, locate the available material, and prioritize orders to be processed.
Communicate with other operators to formulate the run order of material.
Load and unload various machines to include conveyors and perform necessary set‑up during shift.
Complete daily operational and safety checklists.
Requirements- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and speak English is preferred.
- Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level including ability to do decimals, fractions and averages.
- Must be able to communicate, both in written and verbal form, effectively with supervisors and co‑workers.
- Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.
Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day on a regular basis. May require additional hours of work as required.
Requires full range of body motion to include lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting.
Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor while wearing steel‑toed shoes. May walk up to two miles per shift while performing essential duties.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
May require unassisted lifting of a variety of objects weighing 5 to 50 pounds, with an average weight of 34–37 pounds.
Utilizes a variety of hand positions such as turning and twisting.
Working under the pressure of production deadlines or emergency situations can be stressful.
Typical Working ConditionsManufacturing area of the facility. Regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise.
Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95º F to 110º F in the summer due to a combination of outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility.
Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which depend on the actual outside temperature.
Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel‑toed work shoes.
