Summary/Objective
The Fitter Welder I is responsible for fitting parts for OGI units.
Essential Functions- Clamps, holds, tack-welds, grinds, and bolts components to position for welding.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Develop templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Maintain and complete all required records and production documentation.
- Layout, fits nozzles, supports and couplings per blueprint into shell.
- Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report defective tools and equipment.
- Operate a forklift and crane.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations.

Non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles typical of metal fabrication shops.
All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment: noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety harness, full face grinding shield, welding hood and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands- Stand for long periods of time.
- Walk, reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Full-time. Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; additional hours and weekends may be required.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
- 2-year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.
- Read and interpret blueprints and have strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to use and read levels, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Pass applicable welding test GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Fluxcore).
