Summary/Objective
The Fitter Welder is responsible for fitting parts for OGI units.
Responsibilities- Clamps, holds, tack‑welds, grinds, and bolts components to position for welding.
- Examines work pieces for defects and measures them with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Measures dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Develops templates and models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Maintains and completes all required records and production documentation.
- Layouts, fits nozzles, supports, and couplings per blueprint into shell.
- Removes rough spots from work pieces using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports defective tools and equipment.
- Operates a forklift and crane.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Non‑temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles typical of metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, safety harness, full face grinding shield, welding hood and OSHA‑compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
Physical DemandsThe job requires standing for long periods, walking, reaching, ascending/descending ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkFull‑time. Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional work hours and weekends may be required as job duties demand.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Ability to pass 3G Stainless weld test; MIG out to 3/8 inch; 2+ years of relevant experience welding stainless steel.
- Read and interpret blueprints and possess strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to use and read level, tapes, protractors, and various tools.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2‑year technical degree or vocational certificate in welding preferred.
