Laser Machine Operator
Location:
Sand Springs, OK Pay:$18.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Job Type: Full Time, Temp-to-Hire
- Previous experience operating laser cutting equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and job orders.
- Basic knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to set up and operate laser cutting equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments.
- Ability to safely handle and move metal materials.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical production duties.
The Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating laser cutting equipment to produce quality metal components according to customer specifications, blueprints, and production requirements. This position will load materials, monitor machine operation, make adjustments as needed, inspect finished parts, and perform basic machine maintenance. The ideal candidate has previous laser cutting or CNC experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
LaserMachine Operator
– Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to produce metal parts according to specifications.
- Review blueprints, drawings, job orders, and production instructions before beginning each job.
- Set up machines, load materials, and make appropriate machine adjustments.
- Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and job requirements.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain part quality and production efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Identify defects or dimensional issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on laser equipment.
- Report equipment problems, maintenance needs, or production issues to management.
- Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Work cooperatively with fabrication, production, and other departments.
- Look for opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce material waste, and minimize downtime.
- Previous laser cutting experience is strongly preferred.
- CNC machine operation or metal fabrication experience is a plus.
- Experience with Trumpf, Mazak, Bystronic, Amada, or similar laser equipment is helpful.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM programs is a plus.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, or other measuring equipment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely lift and move metal materials.
