Maintenance Technician

Overview

Parker Plastics, Inc. ("PPI") is a privately-owned manufacturer of plastic bottles and containers. Founded in 1989, PPI has four custom blow molding plants located in Sand Springs, OK;
Pleasant Prairie, WI;
Hagerstown, MD; and North Las Vegas, NV. Parker Plastics is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician to join our Sand Springs, Oklahoma plant.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:06 PM, with overtime as needed. This Maintenance Technician is responsible for driving the preventive maintenance program and other maintenance duties as assigned. This position is considered safety sensitive and requires passing a drug test, physical, and criminal background check.

• Perform and complete daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment within the facility.
• Complete preventive maintenance logs on all assigned equipment.
• Perform general maintenance on all assigned production equipment as needed.
• Assist in installing new equipment within the facility.
• Coordinate with outside general contractors on special projects and preventive maintenance programs.
• Report deficiencies (plumbing, bolts, gauges, cylinders, etc.) found on the equipment.
• Help monitor/maintain a spare parts inventory for assigned equipment.
• Keep the shop and stockroom clean and in an orderly condition at all times.
• Maintain shop equipment in a safe operating condition.
• Assist in maintaining the inventory/part checkout sheet.
• Perform or assist with equipment rebuilds as required on all production equipment.
• Ensure that company tools are kept in good, safe working condition and returned to their proper place after each use.
• Assist co-workers as needed.
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC (refrigeration, heating, and cooling) systems.
• Must have working knowledge in plumbing.
• Must safely and effectively use a variety of hand tools.
• Must be able to operate a Volt/Ohm meter, micrometers, calculator, and be familiar with a variety of tools and equipment.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain a company-issued certification through training.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all policies and procedures.
• Maintain satisfactory work and good attendance levels.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 5 years of related experience.

• Standing, climbing, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting for extended periods of time.
• Walking over long distances to accomplish tasks.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds regularly.
• Talking and exchanging ideas by spoken word in a friendly, professional manner.
• Hearing within no less than 40 dB at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
