The Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts or products to professional customers safely and efficiently. The role also includes collecting cash on delivery, handling returns, and using fleet devices for data capture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
- Use fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture signatures, update mileage, and complete daily inspections.
- Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily inspections prior to use.
- Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, handheld devices, and collected monies at all times.
- Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and fill out driver return slips.
- Communicate problems or special needs to store management.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
- Ensure fuel tank is filled and lock vehicle at end of day.
- Clock in/out according to company policy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (customer service, sweeping, stocking, merchandising, errands, core returns, checking in stock orders, etc.).
- Occasionally assist customers, serve as cashier, and/or help with merchandising tasks when required.
Required:
- Quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
- Meet the company's 14/18-point driving record standard.
- Possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
Desired:
- Familiar with automotive parts.
- Ability to operate other light store equipment.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
