About the Position
As a Truck Driver, you will operate various trucks—including transport of dirt, aggregate, asphalt, and equipment—to multiple job sites. You’ll also contribute to yard operations by managing stockpiles and moving materials as needed. This skilled role values independence, yet you’ll be supported by a collaborative team and provided clear guidance for complex tasks.
What You’ll DoDrive trucks safely and professionally on highways, local roads, job sites, and in the yard.
Perform daily pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, maintaining thorough DOT‑compliant documentation.
Check vital vehicle functions (fluid levels, tires, lights, controls) for optimal operation.
Attach and detach a variety of trailers, including pup, belly dump, side dump, transfer, tilt/transport, as needed.
Keep detailed delivery logs and complete billing paperwork accurately.
Load and unload equipment and materials with care and efficiency.
Monitor gauges and controls throughout vehicle operation.
Maintain daily mileage logs and ensure clean, orderly vehicles.
Use truck tarps to cover loads when required.
Uphold product quality standards and assist with minor maintenance; report major issues for prompt resolution.
Follow all company safety protocols and report any concerns to leadership.
Obey traffic laws and follow dispatch instructions precisely.
Be a team player, support co‑workers and contribute to a positive work environment.
Commit to regular, dependable attendance and flexibility with schedules and assigned duties.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.
CDL A or B license required based on position applied for;
Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in dump/tractor/trailer driving preferred, but motivated candidates willing to learn are welcome; training provided.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks.
MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
Strict commitment to safety and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Professional, courteous attitude towards colleagues, supervisors, and the public.
Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends when necessary.
Prepared to wear PPE per OSHA/MSHA safety protocols (Face Shield, Safety Shoes, Coveralls, etc.).
Skills and KnowledgeExpertise in safe operation of trucks and equipment under varied conditions.
Ability to perform basic math and keep accurate records.
Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
Detail‑oriented with excellent judgment and problem‑solving abilities.
Experience securing heavy equipment and oversized loads is a plus.
Ability to interact professionally with customers, collect payments, and assist with problem resolution.
Physical Demands- Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
- Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25–50 lbs. as needed.
- Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
- Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
