Overview
This position is responsible for operating equipment in the maintenance of city streets and related infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Subject to call back 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Assist with installing and maintaining work zone traffic control devices, and obtains GDOT certified flagger qualification.
- Position involves operating pickup trucks and various small equipment including but not limited to the following: zero turn mower, pavement roller, hay blower, weed eaters, chain saws and edgers, tractors, and bushhogs
- Significant use of hand tools, such as pavement saw, shovel, rakes and asphalt lutes
- Assist with projects, including building demolitions, site clean ups, storm drainage maintenance, traffic sign installations and general construction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No related experience required.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
