Position: R&D Technician I

Overview

Litehouse Foods is seeking a detail-oriented R&D Food Technician I to join our team in Sandpoint,  position is 100% onsite. Candidate must live in area at time of application.

As an R&D Food Technician I, you ll support our Food Scientists by preparing product samples, conducting experiments, documenting results, and helping turn innovative concepts into products our customers love. Responsibilities
  • Support Food Scientists with research and development projects by preparing product samples, conducting experiments, and collecting data.
  • Assemble food products in a laboratory setting following established formulas, scientific methods, and product development guidelines.
  • Perform analytical testing, record observations, and document results using laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
  • Evaluate new and existing ingredients to understand functionality, handling, and suitability for product development.
  • Prepare finished product samples for internal evaluations, customer requests, sales, and marketing activities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, work areas, and supplies while following food safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Associate degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in research and development, food manufacturing, laboratory work, or a related scientific environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, ingredient functionality, or food processing; experience with emulsified products is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word; experience with ERP systems is helpful.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately document testing results and follow technical procedures.
