Purpose of the Job

The Corporate Development Manager provides end-to-end support to the Executive:
Corporate Development and the Corporate Development function in identifying, assessing, sourcing, and implementing corporate development initiatives. These include acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and strategic projects aimed at delivering long-term value to the Group. The role assumes primary responsibility for financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence processes to support strategic decision-making and investment execution.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Business, Commerce, Mining or related discipline
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in in-house mining corporate / business development, investment banking, corporate finance or related advisory environment
  • Proven experience and understanding in executing M&A, corporate finance and similar commercial transactions, with good working knowledge of associated regulatory environment.
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation expertise
  • Knowledge of and experience in commodities / mining industry and industry dynamics
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capability
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills with good attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative and adapt in fast paced environment
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task across projects and prioritise workload
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the team in identifying and assessing corporate development opportunities, including M&A, partnerships, and growth initiatives aligned to Group strategy
  • Develop, review, and maintain robust financial and valuation models to support investment decisions
  • Provide financial modelling, valuation insights, and commercial analysis across the Group
  • Analyse industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to identify risks and opportunities
  • Ensure alignment with Group strategy, governance frameworks, and value creation objectives
  • Provide support on execution of corporate transactions, and within a short period of time, depending on the transaction, manage the project on a day-to-day basis
  • Collaborate with and coordinate internal and external stakeholders in due diligence processes
  • Engage and manage internal stakeholders, external advisors, and partners throughout transactions
  • Prepare detailed valuation analyses, investment cases, and supporting financial insights
  • Compile and deliver high-quality Board and Exco papers, reports, and presentations
  • Collaborate with advisors and cross-functional teams to ensure successful transaction outcomes
