Head: Finance

Our client, an established leader in the financial services industry, is seeking a seasoned Head of Finance on a 6-month contract to spearhead financial operations that directly support strategic group objectives. In this role, you will lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to ensuring excellence in financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency, all within a dynamic and regulated environment.

• Lead and develop a high-performing team across Financial Operations, supporting Group Business Services, Group Finance, and the Nedbank Group.
• Define and execute strategic goals for finance operations to enable seamless financial consolidation and reporting.
• Analyse financial data to identify anomalies, provide insights, and make meaningful recommendations.
• Oversee budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with key economic indicators and strategic initiatives.
• Review reconciliations to ensure accurate financial results and follow up on unreconciled items.
• Compile financial statements compliant with IFRS and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements, including AI adoption, to optimise workflows and processes.
• Develop robust financial controls in partnership with risk, ethics, and IFRS to meet audit and regulatory standards.
• Foster continuous learning and skills development through mentoring, coaching, and on-the-job training.
• Support business strategy implementation by reviewing plans and ensuring systems, processes, and solutions are aligned.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial management within the financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and team leadership.
• Strong risk management skills and understanding of regulatory compliance.
