Senior Financial Analyst - Energy Investments

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the energy sector , is seeking a highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join their investment team in Sandton . This role is crucial for evaluating the financial viability of new energy projects, mergers, and acquisitions, providing critical insights to guide strategic investment decisions. You will conduct in-depth financial modeling, risk assessment, and valuation analysis, working closely with business development and executive leadership.

• Develop complex financial models to support investment decisions, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, LBO modeling, and M&A valuations.
• Analyze financial statements, market data, and economic trends relevant to the energy industry .
• Prepare detailed financial reports, investment proposals, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct due diligence for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies for energy investment opportunities.
• Monitor the financial performance of existing investments and provide ongoing analysis and recommendations.

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CFA designation is a strong asset.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial analysis , investment banking, corporate finance, or a related role within the energy sector .
• Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of capital markets, energy project finance , and M&A processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
