Chief Financial Officer - Mining Operations

About the Role

Our client, a prominent mining entity, is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations based in Sandton . This executive role is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, budgeting, risk management, and reporting. You will play a critical part in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring fiscal responsibility across all mining projects.

This leadership position demands extensive experience in financial management within the complex and capital-intensive mining sector, contributing to the sustained growth and success of the organization in Gauteng .

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and tax.
• Develop and execute the company's long-term financial strategy, aligning with operational goals.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation processes to optimize resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, reporting standards (IFRS), and internal controls.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence and integrity.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board of Directors, driving informed decision-making.

• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CMA, or an MBA with a finance specialization.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (CFO, VP Finance).
• Extensive experience within the mining or natural resources industry is essential.
• Proven track record in financial strategy, M&A, capital raising, and risk management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
