Associate Attorney - Labour and Employment Law

SUMMARY

A well-established legal practice in Rivonia is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with solid expertise in labour and employment law. The successful candidate will manage a broad range of labour‑related matters, provide strategic legal advice, represent clients before various forums, and play a key role in resolving complex labour disputes.

Minimum Requirements:

• LLB degree (postgraduate qualification in Labour Law/Industrial Relations advantageous)
• 3–5 years’ post‑admission experience in labour and employment law, with proven experience handling complex disputes
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, in good standing
• Strong experience conducting disciplinary hearings as both chairperson and initiator/prosecutor
• Extensive experience in Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court matters, including reviews, appeals, and urgent applications
• Strong advocacy, drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills
• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office
• Fluency in English; proficiency in an additional South African language is advantageous
