Maintenance Technician

* Boutique Hotel based in Sandton is looking for a Maintenance Technician.

This role is essential to ensuring the property remains beautifully maintained, safe, and fully operational at all times, delivering the exceptional guest experience.

Duties:

Conduct daily maintenance checks across the hotel and villa
Carry out preventative maintenance schedules and respond to urgent repairs
Attend to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general daily maintenance tasks
Maintain all equipment, tools, and machinery in good working order
Oversee contractors and service providers when required
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Support the hotel team with any facility-related needs
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and inventory levels
Be able to call suppliers to enquire about availability on tools, equipment etc…

Requirements

Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician / Handyman (hospitality experience advantageous)
Strong skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
Valid driver’s licence preferred
Should be able to use a computer (semi-skilled)
Physically fit and able to perform hands-on tasks
Excellent time management and communication skills
Reliable, responsible, and able to work without constant supervision
Professional appearance and a genuine, guest-oriented attitude.
Must live onsite and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
