Maintenance Technician

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturing company based in Sandton, Gauteng , is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with proven experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various industrial systems.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment according to schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on plant equipment.
• Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Install new machinery and equipment as required.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of predictive maintenance programs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workshop and work areas.

• Trade qualification (e.g., Electrician, Fitter and Turner) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime and be on standby as required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be based in or able to commute to Sandton .
