The Challenge (Job Summary):
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you’ll play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by ensuring timely and accurate processing of payables. You will help maintain strong financial controls, support compliance with policies and procedures, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting function.
You’ll get to:
- Manage and process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently
- Support financial operations through detailed recordkeeping and reconciliation
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper approvals and documentation
- Contribute to maintaining compliant and organized financial processes
Key Responsibilities &
Essential Functions:
- Review, code, and process invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
- Match purchase orders to invoices and verify proper approvals prior to payment
- Process accounts payable checks, disbursements, and void transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and filing systems
- Prepare and process vendor payments, including year-end 1099 forms
- Assist with payroll-related items such as mileage reimbursement processing
- Support tax-related activities, including estimated tax payments and documentation
- Assist leadership with additional accounting and finance-related tasks as needed
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all financial data
What you need to succeed:
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounts payable processes [
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to review and verify documents for completeness and accuracy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of accounts payable or accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
