Daily you will be responsible for the following:

• Utilize Solid Edge to design mechanical-related parts, components and assemblies
• Partner with production to determine manufacturability of products
• Determine tolerances and measurements of components
• Complete all final detailing on design projects
• Oversee and manage 8-10 design projects at a time, including managing timelines and ensuring the project is within budget
• Review customer design packets to prepare for projects
• Communicate with the tooling design department
• Partner with manufacturing and quality on quality issues and work to eliminate scrap and improve processes
• Focus on long-term projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate with customers on technical issues of the design
• Other duties as directed by management

Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer (Entry level):

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technologies
• Ideally one to two internships or co-ops
• Exposure to manufacturing environments
• 3D modeling skills
• The desire to work in a mechanical design related position
• Microsoft Office, including strong MS Excel skills

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• Machining and/or welding exposure
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Solid Edge
• Exposure to an ERP system
• Experience with calipers and/or micrometers
