The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs and recommends products and services. The Master Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look, supporting Management through performance, people, and process responsibilities.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $1,250 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
• Support execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate recommendations.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total‑store experience.
• Build professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaboration to deliver exceptional guest experience.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; ensure compliance with state board guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to Management, ensuring guest readiness at all times.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing services.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and build clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
