Position: Quality / Layout Technician - 1st Shift

Primary Function

Responsible for ensuring product quality through inspections, measurements, and data analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned routine inspections and/or part measurements on materials, goods in process, or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards and report results to applicable personnel.
  • Perform analysis of inspection and/or measurement results as assigned.
  • Perform SPC functions, evaluate data and compile reports as required.
  • Communicate with Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering in verbal and written form.
  • Perform dimensional layouts as needed.
  • Contribute to team objectives by accomplishing assigned goals and targets.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in a Quality Lab preferred
  • Proficient in writing and executing programs with PC-DMIS CAD++
  • Skilled in the use of precision instruments such as Optical Comparator, Calipers, Micrometers, CMM, FARO, Contracer, 3D scanner, Laser mic, hardness tester and various hand tools etc.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Knowledge of SPC functions and ability to analyze related data.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
Abilities/Skills
  • Proficient reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills
  • Vision correctable to 20/40
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and dexterity in operating gauges and testing equipment.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
  • Full time position
  • Must work in a professional and courteous manner with coworkers
  • Open to work in a diverse work environment
  • Manufacturing environment may incur extreme temperature variation
  • 80% sedentary, with lifting fixtures, and tote filled with test parts.
  • Occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
