SUMMARYCoordinates inbound and outbound freight shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely communication, and efficient movement of materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Contact customers to arrange shipments of finished product
- Contact freight carriers to arrange shipment of both inbound and outbound freight
- Create and manage shipping documentation (pick lists, packing lists, bills of lading, and photos of packaged freight) by making transactions in, printing from, and scanning into company ERP system
- Pack and wrap finished product, parcel shipments, and other outbound freight
- Operate a lift truck
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Provide coverage for the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor as needed (e.g., PTO, offsite meetings, absences)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and proper email etiquette in internal and external communications
- Working knowledge of ERP systems related to shipping and inventory transactions
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- High School or GED required
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in shipping within a manufacturing environment
- Basic reading and writing proficiency in English
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with decimals)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate shipments efficiently
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORKENVIRONMENT
This position operates in an open office area within an industrial manufacturing environment. The employee is regularly exposed to lift truck traffic, moving mechanical parts, and moderate industrial noise. Required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, must be worn at all times. A clean and organized work area must be maintained.
