Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

About the Role

Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a talented individual to join our Production Team. The Production Supervisor will serve as the first line of management responsible for managing the production floor. The selected candidate will report to the Plant Superintendent and serve as a member of the Leadership Team. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who possesses the ability to relate to employees at all levels.

The primary responsibility will be to direct and coordinate activities of manufacturing, maintain workflows by leading team members, observe equipment, identify cost reductions, develop reporting procedures and systems, and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. As unique situations present themselves, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, and company reputation. The selected candidate will interface with all departments at our Fostoria, OH location.

• Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the manufacturing process, supporting departments and other supervisors to assure that safety, quality and productivity are maximized.
• Ensure that the production areas maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Implement and support all aspects of 6S.
• Lead, mentor, and coach production team members.
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.
• Establish and control conditions of production to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
• Develop and maintain cost‑effective alternatives and improvements to the production process.
• Perform analysis of manufacturing materials and determine optimum control levels.
• Assess training needs and support employee training, including communication of procedures and work practices to employees in their area of responsibility.
• Monitor production boards daily and throughout the shift to verify hourly production rates and targets.

• Possess 5+ years of manufacturing management experience.
• Demonstrate the characteristics of a Servant Leadership style:

• Hold formal certifications in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Accelerated Root Cause or Transactional Lean.

• Work extended hours and weekends as needed.
