Build Innovative Food Processing Equipment with JBT Marel JBT Marel is looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble industry-leading food processing equipment using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and building high-quality equipment in a team environment, we'd love to hear from you.
WhatYou'll Do
- Assemble mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on food processing equipment.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and bills of materials.
- Perform equipment testing and troubleshooting to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measurement tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts (training provided), and other shop equipment as needed.
- Complete work within established labor standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Inspect your work for quality and make adjustments as needed to ensure equipment meets specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and fellow team members to meet production goals.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing and/or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to view drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Welding experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with industrial controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, cameras, or laser scanners is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Push and move carts and materials.
- Work from ladders or elevated platforms when needed.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, overhead cranes, forklifts, varying temperatures, and industrial noise.
