Quality Coordinator

Manufacturer is seeking a Quality Coordinator to work within a team of quality professionals and report to a Quality Manager with eight years of experience with the organization. Daily you will be responsible for the following quality functions:
- Assist with improving internal quality issues, including reviewing customer complaints and organizing teams to complete root cause analysis and implement countermeasures
- Gather data to determine countermeasures
- Follow up with suppliers on corrective actions and assist the manager in review and approval
- Document chargebacks from suppliers and track supplier KPIs
- Assist with internal quality audits
- Support the organization of calibrations
- Organize the sorting and rework areas by supplying needed samples and adequate tools
- Order supplies for the quality department
- Complete data entry of scrap and rework in order to complete quality metrics and KPIs
- Assist with completing testing and quality projects as delegated
- Complete customer certifications
- Attend daily production meetings in the absence of the quality manager
- Other duties as directed by management

Requirements for the Quality Coordinator:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of similar quality experience or an Associate's degree with at least one year of similar quality experience
- Experience performing quality functions in manufacturing
- Exposure to formal problem solving tools (8D, 5
WHY, etc.) - Experience working with measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
- The ability to read blueprints
- Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
Skills preferred but NOT required:
- Minitab
- Steel related industries
- 5
WHY and/or 8D problem solving tools - ISO environments
- Customer communication experience
- Supervision of others
- ERP experience
