Your DaySales Specialists are active, moving throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and engaging customers. You communicate project needs, answer questions, and help customers achieve their home improvement goals. You serve as the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. You may work in departments such as Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.
Key Responsibilities- Provide SMART customer service by understanding needs, answering questions, and communicating product advantages.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors, provide project estimates, schedule installers, process and track orders, and follow up to ensure completion.
- If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
- Monitor inventory levels, work with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacements.
- Perform price reviews and ensure compliance with pricing policies.
- Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, or assistance requests.
- Train associates through on‑the‑job training and coaching.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year customer‑facing sales experience or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years of external sales experience or 18 months of Lowe’s retail experience if education not met).
- 1 year sales or customer‑service experience in a sales environment with required goals or metrics.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted or more with accommodation.
- Obtain any required sales‑licensure or registration in your state;
Lowe’s will support and fund this requirement.
- 1 year experience completing customer sales orders.
- 1 year promoting product‑related services and plans such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection.
- 2 years designing customized products using 20/20 or CAD systems.
- Professional certification related to the department.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
This role does not require regular travel but may need occasional travel to meetings, training, or support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsConditions vary by location; you may work indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather extremes, noise, moving or shaking equipment, and varying climate conditions. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 lbs; team lifts are used as needed. Powered equipment is used with proper training.
