Job Summary

Key Responsibilities- Drive sales and contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services.
- Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve established sales goals.
- Consistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process to provide a favorable customer experience.
- Develop and utilize sales skills—including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, portfolio presentations, objection handling, closing, follow‑up, after‑sale service, and continued contact.
- Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
- Maintain strong knowledge of existing and new product line features and benefits.
- Schedule professional home consultations and present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations, and the benefits of a professional installation service.
- Support design‑related functions in the store.
- Provide the highest level of customer service, using Podium, to ensure a positive experience and follow‑up.
- Respond to incoming calls and emails, and resolve customer issues and complaints by providing appropriate solutions.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all store employees and assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers on product knowledge and the selling process.
- Support visual appearance of the store, including floor and showroom displays, tagging of products, catalog maintenance, and overall cleanliness.
- Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, research customer payments and deliveries, and complete daily On‑Point system logs.
- Schedule deliveries and be responsible for opening and closing the store.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience and a strong ability to close sales preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and positively influence.
- Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Effective time‑management and ability to handle conflicting priorities.
- Team‑player with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work the schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Initiative to meet assigned goals and drive results.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods; perform repetitive hand motions, hearing and listening; sit, walk, bend and stoop; work within indoor environmental conditions; pass background and drug screen.
CompensationTraining Pay: $16 per hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commission).
Post‑Training Pay: Base hourly rate of $13 (varies by location) with uncapped commissions—3% on La‑Z‑Boy Design Sales and 2% on other sales. Quarterly bonus opportunity of $1,500 based on meeting defined sales goals. Company ensures compliance with state/local minimum wage requirements.
