Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician – support, repair, and maintain refrigeration HVAC equipment for Walmart’s retail stores using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills. The role includes troubleshooting, emergency response, and documentation using the work order management system.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand, digital, and power tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and complete repair work orders for stores and associates.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Complete all required training for safe operation of equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Option 1:
  Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial HVAC/R or building controls field.
• Option 2: 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial HVAC/R or building controls field.
• HVAC‑R/Mechanical journeyman certification where required.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

• Commercial driving record with no violations for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations in the last three years.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill, experience, and job level. The hourly wage range is $29.00 – $58.00. Additional premiums may apply for schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
