Compensation & SchedulePay: $22.59 per hour. Full‑time.
Hours:
0800‑1630. Union: OCSEA.
- Organize, plan and conduct empowerment activities to promote high self‑esteem and self‑respect (crafts, wood shop, sing‑a‑longs, cooking, gardening); maintain activities promoting physical, cognitive and social health.
- Monitor residents during individual and group activities.
- Assist supervisor in establishing goals and objectives for the department.
- Develop and evaluate activity portion of the Plan of Care, including initial assessments, updates, MDS, and discharge summaries.
- Plan and conduct outings, social events and special programs.
- Escort and transport residents during shopping trips, outings and off‑ground activities.
- Plan monthly calendar of events and activities.
- Orchestrate, train and supervise volunteers in the activity area.
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as reports on resident activities and attendance records.
- Associate degree in recreation or a related specialty (music, art, drama) with 12 months of activity therapy experience; valid driver’s license.
- Alternatively, completion of an undergraduate core program in recreation or a related specialty; valid driver’s license.
- Alternatively, equivalent to the minimum qualifications listed above.
- Must have certification in animal‑assisted therapy if animals will be used.
- Starting hourly pay $22.59 with scheduled increases over years of service following your fifth year.
