Location: Sandwich Montessori School – Cape Cod
Position Type: Full-Time
Work alongside experienced Montessori educators in small classroom environments while learning the craft of teaching. This role is designed for individuals who want to begin a meaningful career in education while developing their skills through mentorship and daily classroom experience.

The Teaching Partner role is the entry point into this pathway.
Many of our strongest Teaching Partners are recent college graduates or early-career professional who want meaningful work with children while continuing to grow as educators.
This role offers hands‑on classroom experience, mentorship from experienced Montessori educators, and a clear pathway toward leadership in education.
This position is ideal for someone who:

Teaching Partners work alongside 0‑3 Teacher Leaders to support calm, well‑prepared environments for children.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supporting Montessori classroom routines and transitions
- Helping prepare and maintain the classroom environment
- Observing children and supporting their independence
- Assisting with literacy routines and language‑rich interactions
- Maintaining clear communication with the classroom team
- Contributing to a culture of respect, order, and curiosity
Over time, Teaching Partners begin leading small routines and developing their own classroom skills.
What Success Looks Like in the First YearA successful Teaching Partner at Sandwich Montessori School demonstrates steady growth in the following areas during the first year:
- Calm emotional regulation with children, even during busy or challenging classroom moments.
- Consistent reliability and punctuality, arriving prepared and ready to support the classroom each day.
- Strong preparation of the environment, helping maintain an orderly, welcoming space that supports children’s independence.
- Curiosity and commitment to learning, actively participating in Montessori training, coaching, and literacy development.
- Positive collaboration with the classroom team, communicating clearly and contributing to a respectful and supportive environment.
Teaching Partners gradually take on more responsibility as their skills develop. Many Teaching Partners begin preparing for movement into the Teacher role during their first year as they demonstrate readiness for increased leadership in the classroom.

You do not need prior Montessori experience to apply. EEC Certification is highly desirable, and not mandatory.
You do need a genuine commitment to learning and improving over time, as well as:
- Completed or nearly completed college coursework toward a bachelor’s degree. Many of our strongest candidates are recent graduates or students finishing their final year of college.
- Experience working with children in environments such as camps, tutoring, childcare, mentoring, or youth programs is highly valued.
