The Oak Ridge School in Sandwich, a grades 3-6 school, is looking for an Educational Support Professional (ESP) to support students receiving special education services 1:1, in classrooms, in small groups and/or in a subseparate classroom.
This is a full-time position working 6.5 hours per day.
QUALITIES / ATTRIBUTES /
SKILLS:
- Experience working with special education students is preferred.
- Associate degree preferred but not required.
- Organization, patience, and a sense of humor required.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principal/Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Appointed on an annual basis
WORK YEAR: 183 days
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
- Work cooperatively with the teachers, supervisors, and additional ESPs.
- Support students individually or in small groups during classroom instruction.
- Provide support in student learning of new material under the supervision of a teacher, if necessary.
- Provide academic, social, and behavioral assistance in classrooms settings.
- Assist with duties as required by the building principal and teacher.
- Participate in district-assigned professional development.
COMPENSATION:
Per the ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the Sandwich website .
