Full-Time MPTC Certified Police Officers
Police Officers work under the general direction of a Shift Sergeant in conformance with departmental regulations, applicable provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, applicable Federal Laws, local Town By-Laws, and professional standards. Successful candidates may be eligible for an expedited Field Training process for assignment to the Patrol Division.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo physical and psychological screening. Qualified candidates must be certified with a full‑time academy recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee and certified through the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. A full background investigation will be conducted prior to a conditional job offer.
The current salary is between $31.38 and $41.41 per hour depending on the experience of the officer. Pay steps and vacation leave are commensurate with the experience of the applicant. Posted salaries do not include education incentive or shift differentials. Education incentive matches previous Quinn Bill incentives.
