Police Officers work under the general direction of a Shift Sergeant in conformance with departmental regulations, applicable provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, applicable Federal Laws, local Town By-Laws, and professional standards.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo physical and psychological screening. Qualified Candidates will complete a full-time academy recognized by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee. Candidates must be capable of being certified through the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. A full background investigation will be conducted prior to a conditional job offer.

Current starting salary is $31.38 per hour. The Sandwich Police Department offers competitive benefits; including education incentive, vacation leave, personal leave, sick leave, and holiday pay. Health insurance is paid 75% by the employer. Sandwich is an EOE/AA Employer.
