Job Summary

As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to help customers achieve their goals while advancing your own career.

Responsibilities
  • Research industry and market trends affecting restaurants within your territory
  • Identify and research prospective customers
  • Develop sales strategies that showcase GFS products, services, and value proposition; present strategies to prospects
  • Visit all customers on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis
  • Conduct business reviews to identify needs and opportunities for sales growth
  • Provide ongoing training to customers on GFS product offerings
  • Identify opportunities to add value through product and service offerings
  • Balance new customer acquisition with deepening existing relationships
  • Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers
  • Communicate order status and processing updates to customers
Training
  • Use GFS systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships
  • Learn about products available to GFS customers
  • Understand the sales process for engaging new customers
  • Establish relationships in the GFS network of resources
  • Apply best practices for relationship development with current and prospective customers
  • Develop strategies for effective territory management
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
  • Minimum of one year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
  • Valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
