Description:
The Controller is responsible for accounting, tax, banking, A/R and A/P functions. This position manages multiple (7‑10) professionals and outside service providers. The individual reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including A/R, A/P and tax.
- Coordinating and preparing US GAAP accounting for two held subsidiaries and consolidating Hold Co business results.
- Conducting monthly financial statement variance reviews with key stakeholders.
- Coordinating activities of external auditors and tax service providers.
- Providing management with information vital to the decision‑making process.
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for process and systems improvements.
- Owning controls over payables, receivables and cash management.
- Maintaining intercompany/cost‑center accounting and allocations.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting systems, supporting migrations, updates and integrations.
- Maintaining A/R aging and working closely with General Counsel to resolve billing disputes.
- Monitoring bank account balances and investment activity to support operations.
- Overseeing tax compliance and reporting.
- Expert knowledge of US GAAP and CPA credential preferred.
- Prior experience managing A/P, A/R and tax functions highly desirable.
- Comfortable performing and prioritizing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day‑to‑day activities.
- Comfortable working in a highly demanding start‑up environment and taking pride in building processes and systems for an emerging, fast‑changing organization.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities: ability to get along with diverse personalities and stakeholders, including investors.
- Experience working with VC/PE sponsors preferred.
- Experience running an accounting close process end‑to‑end.
- Team player with unquestioned integrity and business ethics.
