A leading international construction company is seeking a highly experienced Contract Manager to support its expanding portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.

The selected candidate will play a key leadership role in managing contractual strategy and administration, ensuring effective risk management, contractual compliance, and protection of the organization’s commercial interests across all phases of project delivery. Working in close collaboration with project leadership and multidisciplinary teams, the Contract Manager will contribute to proactive contract management, dispute avoidance, and successful project execution in a dynamic, performance-driven environment.

Mission

The Contract Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all contractual and commercial aspects of heavy civil construction projects throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that contracts are administered effectively, risks are managed proactively, and the company’s commercial interests are protected while supporting successful project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the administration of construction contracts from tender award through project completion and close‑out.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and obligations by all project stakeholders.
  • Support project teams in the interpretation and application of contract provisions, commercial requirements, and contractual procedures.
  • Identify, assess, and support the management of contractual and commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage variations, change orders, and amendments, ensuring proper contractual and commercial evaluation and documentation.
  • Support claims management activities, including the preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and defense of claims where required.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Project Controls teams to assess contractual impacts related to schedule, cost, and scope changes.
  • Provide contractual input during tender, bid, and negotiation phases, including support to contract strategy development and risk allocation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete contract records, correspondence, and commercial documentation.
  • Ensure timely preparation and administration of notices, approvals, and contract communications in line with contractual requirements.
  • Support dispute resolution processes, working with internal stakeholders and external advisors as needed.
  • Coordinate with procurement and subcontract management teams to ensure alignment between main contracts and subcontracts.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of contract management procedures, templates, and best practices.
  • Provide contractual reporting and updates to project and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable industry regulations.
Requirements
  • Degree in Law, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in contract management within project‑based or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration processes in infrastructure projects, including risk allocation and contract lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
Experience working on project such as
  • Large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects (highways, bridges, transit, rail, tunneling, or similar).
  • Public-Private Partnership (P3) projects, including Design-Build-Finance (DBF) and Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain (DBFOM) models.
  • Design-Build and alternative delivery projects, with involvement from preconstruction through execution and close‑out phases.
  • Projects involving complex stakeholder environments (DOTs, public agencies, concessionaires, joint ventures).
  • Experience supporting contractual management on projects exceeding $500M in value (or comparable scale and complexity).
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction contract types, including lump sum, cost‑plus, GMP, EPC, Design‑Build, and P3 concession agreements.
  • Expertise in contract administration, including notices, change management, and contractual compliance.
