- Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project plans and specifications, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and present project updates to clients and stakeholders, providing transparency and fostering strong relationships.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication among team members and addressing any challenges that arise.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and services, negotiating contracts with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best value.
- Implement and maintain project management software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the project management team.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) and other relevant tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in the construction industry.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction methods.
- Familiarity with Lean construction principles and practices.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations specific to the Houston area.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.
The successful candidate will be adept in various project management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall approaches. Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and construction management platforms will be essential. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to analyze project data for informed decision-making are crucial for this role.
