Position Overview:

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity in Augusta and Atlanta, Georgia for an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee daily construction and project operations and ensure a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment. These projects are with Veterans Medical Center and Veterans Integration Service network doing building upgrades over the next 5 years.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects.
Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards.
Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use.
Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised.
Safety training of all personnel assigned to project.
Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items.
Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings.
Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews.
Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations.
Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans.
Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems.
Foster and maintain a positive safety culture for the project personnel.
Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts.
Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff.
Produce Safety Reports of activities performed.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management.
Lead Incident/accident Investigations.
Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline OR a minimum of 5 years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in addition to a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
EM-385 Certification.
Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and industry.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience developing, implementing, and managing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
Ability to review confidential US security information.
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Ability to manage positive and effective interpersonal, functional, organizational relationships with all parties.
Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and presentation skills.
Current CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
Experience working under USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting.
Valid Driver License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
