Junior Video Editor Role Overview
Serenity is looking for a forward-thinking Junior Video Editor who lives at the intersection of traditional cinema and cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence. This isn’t a "press a button" role; we need a visual storyteller who can command AI tools (Generative Video, AI Avatars, and Image Synthesis) while maintaining the rigorous standards of a professional post-production house.
You will be responsible for bridging the gap between raw AI outputs and polished, commercial-ready content, ensuring every frame—whether generated or filmed—meets Serenity's technical and aesthetic benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities- Hybrid Content Production:
Create high-fidelity video content and lifelike AI avatars by blending generative AI tools with traditional NLE (Non-Linear Editing) workflows.
- The "Final Polish":
Manually identify and fix common AI discrepancies, including visual artifacts, background warping, "shimmering," and lip-sync misalignments.
- Technical Asset Prep:
Use Photoshop for high-end retouching, compositing, and preparing "plates" or "seed images" to guide AI video generation.
- Creative Translation:
Turn scripts and creative briefs into cohesive videos across various styles—from sleek corporate messaging to cinematic storytelling.
- Rigorous Quality Control (QC):
Perform frame-by-frame self-checks to ensure consistency in lighting, character likeness, and pacing before any project reaches the stakeholder.
- Workflow Agility:
Stay fluid across multiple AI platforms (e.g., Runway, Luma, Hey Gen, Midjourney), selecting the right tool based on the specific technical needs of a project.
- NLE Proficiency:
Expert-level basics in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects
, or DaVinci Resolve
. You should be comfortable with masking, tracking, and basic compositing.
- Design & Retouching:
Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills for asset preparation and post-generation "paint-outs."
- Motion & Audio:
Experience in motion graphics (titles/lower thirds), sound design, and professional captioning.
- Photography/Cinematography Foundation: A deep understanding of lighting, framing, the "Rule of Thirds," and color theory. You must know why a shot looks "off" and how to fix it.
- AI Fluency:
Familiarity with the current generative landscape. You understand prompt engineering and how to manipulate seeds/settings to achieve specific visual outcomes.
- Obsessive Attention to Detail:
You notice the pixel-level glitch that others miss.
- Adaptability:
The AI field changes weekly; you must be a self-starter who enjoys learning new software on the fly.
- Portfolio Requirement: A reel or portfolio that explicitly showcases AI-driven video projects alongside traditional editing work.
- Hands-on experience in healthcare marketing and communications.
- Mentorship and learning opportunities from experienced professionals.
- Excellent benefits:
We cover 90% of medical, dental & vision for you and your family.
- 401(k) - because your future deserves self-care too.
- 10 PTO days (15 days after first year) + 10 paid holidays to rest, reset, and recharge.
- Employee Referral Program.
Serenity Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and drug screening.
