At Alpha, academic work is completed in only two hours each day using adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on the work that truly transforms lives: developing confidence, resilience, strong communication, and the drive to pursue difficult challenges. You won't be standing at the front of a room delivering traditional lessons. Instead, you'll spend your time coaching students as they navigate challenges, acknowledging their progress, and demonstrating what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic belief in their abilities.

Your responsibility will be leading one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Roughly half your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and giving and receiving feedback. The remaining half is dedicated to individualized and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. They should exit your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they're capable of more than they previously believed.

This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We conduct national recruitment, so job postings may appear in nearby cities where we do not currently have a campus.

• Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students in mastering communication, concentration, feedback, and other enduring skills through active engagement rather than passive listening.
• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child remains on pace for ambitious weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life‑skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2
  
  Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they show genuine mastery—not merely attendance or effort.
• Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narrative for younger children or increased independence and responsibility for older students.
• Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push themselves beyond what they initially believed was possible.

• Delivering academic instruction from the front of the room. Students complete academic work through adaptive software.
• Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
• Observing students as they work quietly on computers. Your role centers on active coaching, motivation, and personal connection.
• Reducing expectations in response to student difficulty. Success is achieved by supporting students to meet the standard, not by lowering the standard itself.
• Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are enthusiastic about attending school, reliably meet ambitious learning targets, and acquire the life skills necessary to succeed well beyond elementary school.
