Position Title:
Certified Tutor for VCS After school Program
Work Days:
Monday-Thursday. Hours vary daily.$30 per hour
Reports To:
After school Director
Evaluation Tool: VCS Evaluation Instrument
FLSA Status:
Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides and implements planned instructional activities for After School Program students. This position
is contingent upon the availability of grant funds. Continued employment is dependent on the continued
receipt of these funds.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Valid Georgia Teacher Certificate Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- All applicants must complete a Criminal Background Check
- Must be 18 years or older
- Any alternatives to the criteria above, as the Superintendent may deem appropriate, and acceptable.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining daily student attendance reports for assigned students.
- Maintains and follows accurate record-keeping in compliance with procedures when assigned to the front desk.
- Responsible for developing, planning, and implementing a variety of student instructional activities.
- Responsible for data keeping and progress monitoring.
- Responsible for Individualized Student Plans. .
- Follows daily schedule as assigned by the director.
- Knowledge of and follows the site safety procedures.
- Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions.
- Responsible for the behavior management of students
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the After school Programs Director, Program Coordinator, and the Site Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to work well with tutors, site managers, after-school support staff, school leaders, and district office leaders.
2. Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
3. Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
4. Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
5. Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
6. Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
7. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
8. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
