Job RoleThe European Technical Team Leader will be responsible for leading the engineering, design, and technical delivery of utility‑scale ground‑mounted photovoltaic projects across Europe. This role oversees a team of structural, civil, and geotechnical engineers while ensuring that all project designs comply with European engineering standards, technical specifications, and project delivery timelines.
The successful candidate will serve as the key technical bridge between European project teams and the company’s headquarters, supporting multiple projects simultaneously while providing expertise in solar tracker systems, foundation engineering, structural calculations, and geotechnical assessments. This position is ideal for experienced photovoltaic engineering professionals with strong leadership capabilities and deep expertise in utility‑scale solar infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of structural, civil, and geotechnical engineers across multiple photovoltaic projects within Europe.
- Oversee the engineering design and technical delivery of utility‑scale ground‑mounted solar projects, including photovoltaic tracker systems and mounting structures.
- Review and validate structural calculations, foundation designs, pile‑driving strategies, and geotechnical assessments to ensure project integrity and compliance.
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support throughout project development, design optimization, and implementation phases.
- Ensure compliance with Eurocodes, local engineering regulations, project specifications, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, R&D, and project management teams to support product adaptation and project execution requirements.
- Review technical documentation, engineering reports, and project deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support problem-solving activities related to structural design, foundation performance, geotechnical challenges, and project execution risks.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between European operations and headquarters, facilitating effective cross‑border communication and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience within the utility‑scale photovoltaic (PV) industry, with strong exposure to ground‑mounted solar projects across Europe.
- Proven hands‑on experience designing photovoltaic tracker systems, fixed‑tilt mounting structures, piling systems, and associated civil and structural engineering works.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously within complex project environments.
- Strong expertise in solar tracker engineering, structural load calculations, wind load analysis, mounting structure optimization, and utility‑scale PV plant design.
