Civil Engineer

Our client in Gwinnett County is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team. This position supports residential site development projects throughout the greater Metro Atlanta area. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing engineering drawings and plans related to site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, hydrologic studies, and profiles. Experience with hydrologic analysis, plan production, and retaining wall design—particularly within the Metro Atlanta market—is strongly preferred.

• Prepare civil design plans for residential projects, including grading, stormwater management, drainage systems, utility design, and earthwork calculations
• Develop supporting documentation, technical reports, and engineering calculations for residential projects, with occasional support for limited commercial work
• Experience with retaining wall design is preferred
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable municipal, county, and state codes and ordinances
• Work collaboratively with city, county, and state officials throughout all phases of project development

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; E.I.T. or P.E. credential required
• Minimum of two years of experience using engineering design software, including AutoCAD, Hydraflow, Civil 3D, or Haestad Methods software
• Proven experience in site development and civil engineering, including stormwater management systems, site grading, and utility design
• At least one year of experience in residential and/or commercial design with a civil engineering firm preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to serve as a primary client contact during plan production
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
• Plan production experience of 1–2 years preferred
