Engineer Environment

What You Will Do

• Prepare, review, update, and Professional Engineer certify Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for all applicable assets.
• Coordinate site visits with operations personnel and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with SPCC regulations, identifying improvement opportunities and communicating findings clearly and action ably.
• Migrate SPCC plans into Smart Plan and use the platform for all SPCC plan management.
• Retain and manage third‑party consultants, ensuring their compliance with Enbridge’s safety program requirements.
• Provide guidance, advice, and interpretation of SPCC and related state regulations.
• Update internal systems (e.g., Maximo, Enablon) to track compliance tasks and inspection findings.

• Degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer designation preferred or eligible to attain within 12–18 months.
• Minimum 4years of experience, ideally with hands‑on site inspections related to SPCC compliance.
• Exposure to and understanding of the SPCC regulation and related state regulations.
• Experience utilizing Smart Plan or similar SPCC plan management platforms is an asset.
• Experience with natural gas transmission, gathering, production, or distribution is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; a motor vehicle check will be performed prior to hire.

Both office and field environments. Up to 30% field work, with travel ranging from 1 day to 1 week at a time. Exposure to active operating sites often without escort and work alone at active facilities.

• Grasping, kneeling, walking on uneven/unpaved surfaces.
• Light–moderate lifting (objects up to 20pounds), reaching above shoulder.
• Repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual acuity for screens, color coding, fine print.
• Hearing for environmental sounds and communication.
• Ability to sit at a computer for long periods.

• Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Understand complex problems and collaborate on alternative solutions.
• Organize thoughts and prioritize work on a short‑term basis.
• Make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor external impact.
• Follow basic instructions, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports.
• Communicate with individuals via telephone.
