Our client is a rapidly expanding, private equity-backed infrastructure services organization operating across North America. The business provides critical safety and operational solutions to large-scale construction and public infrastructure projects and is supported by a global parent platform with a significant international footprint.
The North American business has grown quickly through a combination of greenfield expansion and acquisitions and is backed by a long-term investment mandate focused on doubling revenue over the next several years. The organization operates across multiple states and business lines and is building a scalable, centralized operating model to support continued expansion.
Position OverviewThe Head of Finance, U.S. will serve as the foundational finance leader for the company’s expanding U.S. platform. This individual will build, standardize, and elevate the finance function across multiple operating entities while supporting ongoing M&A integration and future growth initiatives.
This is a highly visible opportunity to design and professionalize a finance organization from the ground up—creating scalable processes, implementing systems, centralizing transactional activities, and establishing a unified financial operating cadence across a multi-entity structure.
The role oversees a team of approximately 15 professionals across locations and reports directly to senior North American finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities Organizational Leadership & Transformation- Build and lead a centralized U.S. finance function, driving consistency across acquired operating companies
- Assess existing talent and restructure the organization to support scalability and performance
- Centralize core transactional activities (A/R, A/P) and enhance process rigor
- Lead change management initiatives across a multi-location, hybrid team
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting across all U.S. entities
- Establish consistent accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance standards
- Strengthen accounting discipline around revenue recognition, job costing, WIP, percentage-of-completion, and project accounting
- Oversee audit readiness, tax compliance, and reporting requirements
- Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, including finance onboarding, process alignment, and systems consolidation
- Support purchase price allocation, working capital analysis, and earn-out calculations
- Partner closely with due diligence teams to ensure seamless transitions
- Build out U.S. FP&A foundation, including reporting templates, KPI dashboards, and analytics
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and performance insights to support leadership decision-making
Drive consistency across business units and establish a unified financial planning cadence
- Serve as a key finance leader in ERP implementation and systems standardization
- Rebuild reporting infrastructure and champion BI tools
- Implement scalable systems and processes to support future acquisitions
- Act as a strategic partner to operational leadership across the U.S.
- Provide financial insights to drive profitability, operational efficiency, pricing strategy, and ROI analysis
- Support project-level performance management and cost control initiatives
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, technically strong finance leader who thrives in high‑growth, PE‑backed environments and is comfortable building structure within ambiguity.
Required Experience & Competencies- Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership at the Finance Director level
- Public accounting foundation preferred
- Experience in construction, infrastructure services, manufacturing, or other project‑based industries
- Deep expertise in job costing, WIP, POC accounting, and multi‑entity reporting
- Demonstrated success integrating acquisitions and building scalable processes
- Experience leading multi‑location or hybrid teams
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
- Experience with ERP implementations and BI/reporting tools preferred
- Ability to travel approximately 25%
- Hands‑on and detail‑oriented with strong execution capability
- Comfortable operating in evolving, fast‑paced environments
- Strong change management and team‑building skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior operational stakeholders
