Job Description (General Summary):
Provide direct supervision and plans work of a team/unit of Eligibility Specialist determining program eligibility for the senior population. Assists in the development of uniform policy interpretations, securing services and timely benefits, and evaluating quality. Maintains a system of management to monitor quality, quantity, and timeliness of SNAP benefits (Food Stamps) and specific class of assistance Adult Medicaid.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of Eligibility Specialists.
- Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services provided to customers in addition to assigned programmatic responsibilities to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
- Ensures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Develops and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within units(s) and with other agencies and providers.
- Assess assigned staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
- Interviews, hires, directs, trains. and evaluates employees job performance; recommends employee disciplinary and discharge actions as appropriate.
- Leads and administers a comprehensive system of customer support and public assistance.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
AND
four (4) year of job-related customer contact/interaction experience AND one (1) year in a lead worker, team lead, or supervisory role.
OR
- One (1) year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Specialist 3.
Preferred
Qualifications / Division Specific:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
- Two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist 2 and/ or 3 with GA DFCS.
- Trained
AND
worked in two (2)
OR
three (3) OFI programs. - Must be Gateway Eligibility System trained.
