Systems Engineer, Systems Analyst
Application Architect – Remote (Eastern Time)
Salary: $160,000 - $170,000 per year
This position does not qualify for sponsorship.
Responsibilities- Translate business requirements into technical design specifications for applications.
- Work directly with development teams to implement designs and deliver solutions into production.
- Communicate department standards and best practices and ensure they are reflected in the applications.
- Design, document, program, and support Agency Compensation applications that process commission calculations and payments for financial product sales.
- Interface Agency Compensation applications with Web Applications.
- Analyze current systems to resolve new and/or existing problems.
- Evaluate technical feasibility of proposed system solutions, prepare project proposals, and develop or modify systems to meet business needs.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead or direct the work of other developers or projects.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years programming, analysis, or IT experience.
- Participation in major system projects with proficiency in at least one development discipline/platform.
- Experience in project life cycle phases including analysis, design, programming, and implementation.

- Highly competent in processes involved in systems analysis and use of appropriate tools for resolution.
- Understanding design factors, system capacities, hardware and software requirements, coding, testing, and debugging programs.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, working well with subordinates, peers, and management.
Required Skills:
- Highly proficient in COBOL, DB2, CICS, and JCL in a z/OS environment.
- Proficient in establishing CICS table entries for new programs, transactions, and files.
- Experience in Assembler Language preferred.
- Experience in project life cycle phases including analysis, design, programming, and implementation.
- Excellent organization, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Advanced interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
