Brown & Brown’s Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Property & Energy Claims Advocate to join the team. The Claims Advocate will be responsible for providing property and energy claims advocacy, program analysis and risk services to clients in conjunction with the Senior Managing Director of Property & Energy Claims and the Placement Team.

Responsibilities- Assist clients in reporting claims to carriers, advise on managing emergency services, and document the claim.
- Consider and advise clients on additional resources such as restoration firms, engineering consultants, or claim preparation services.
- Advocate for early advance payments and ongoing partial payments to manage cash flow.
- Anticipate potential issues and communicate with the client and adjustment team.
- Provide advice on carrier coverage positions and advocate for the client against any adverse coverage position.
- Manage client claims to bring about timely and fair settlements through follow‑up activities and settlement negotiations.
- Provide input to the Risk Solutions placement team on client claim status and highlight coverage issues or concerns.
- Develop Service Plans for claims handling based on client needs.
- Support and strengthen the Practice through individual contributions, suggestions, mentoring and coaching of junior team members, and sharing success stories.
- Assist with new business development and RFPs, maintaining relationships with clients, independent adjusters, and vendors.
- Stay current on marketplace changes and attend required training, courses, and maintain up‑to‑date broker’s license.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field.
- 8–10 years of related insurance experience.
- Possession or ability to obtain the appropriate state broker’s license.
- Strong prioritization, time‑management, initiative, judgment and critical‑thinking skills.
- Effective interpersonal, customer‑service, and listening skills.
- Experience leading client or market discussions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data‑entry tools.

Annual pay range: $150,000 – $180,000.
